The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the Stockholm Resilience Centre (SRC) are collaborating in a practical effort to bridge the gap between business and science which was announced during the IUCN Congress today.

Solving the world's critical environmental problems and creating sustainable ways of operating means radically changing course. With the signing of a memorandum of understanding the two organisations are aiming to do just that.

For the SRC, this collaboration is a chance to see its scientists' ideas in action and to solve real problems in the real world. For the WBCSD, it offers good, hard facts on which to base decisions that will lead to a more sustainable planet and more sustainable business.
