Biodiversity research, a key to our future

The European Platform for Biodiversity Research Strategy (EPBRS) released a video about the essential role of biodiversity research in addressing societal issues.



This video features prominent biodiversity scientists explaining why biodiversity research should be back on the agenda of the heads of States and European institutions.

IUCN's Director General Julia Marton-Lefèvre talks about the importance of nature based solutions for solving current and future environmental crises.

Sir Robert Watson, Professor at University of East Anglia, United Kingdom, highlights that "financial support, both to the research done on biodiversity and ecosystem services and financial support for the IPBES (Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) is going to be absolutely critical."
