I have been involved in the field of conservation and sustainable use during the early 1990s while working on my Doctoral Thesis in Energy Economics which focused on Power Sector Efficiency and the Use of Renewable Energy Technologies for Development in Caribbean Economies.

In my capacity of Director General of Finance and Permanent Secretary in Grenada, I spearheaded the country’s efforts to meet its obligations under the various Multilateral Environmental Agreements. As a consequence, in 2008, I was appointed Ambassador and Special Envoy for Multilateral Environmental Agreements and currently perform in that capacity.

Elected to the IUCN Council for the first time in 2008, I used the experience gained in the United Nations Environmental Governance Processes to contribute to the furthering of the IUCN Mission.

During my first term on Council I served as Co-Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee and as a member of the Bureau, the Governance Committee and the Task Force on the Intergovernmental Platform for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services.

If elected for a second term I will continue to make my contribution as part of the team to meeting the current and future challenges of the Union.
