After three years of preparation, we’re just hours away from lifting the curtain on the 2012 IUCN World Conservation Congress.

The International Convention Centre on the island of Jeju, South Korea is buzzing with activity as participants arrive in droves from all over the world. For the next 10 days they’ll be thrashing out solutions to global challenges and hearing from leaders in the field of environment and sustainable development. There’s a tangible feeling of anticipation as participants from indigenous communities to business chiefs prepare to share their lessons learned in the field, and arm themselves with new tools to make the changes the world so urgently needs.A packed programme of events will cover a diverse range of topics, including natural ways to help reduce the risk of natural disasters, sustainable agriculture and the impact of industry on biodiversity.
