Launch of IUCN Motions Blog

15 February 2012 | News story

The Motions process is a central element of IUCN’s governance system and an important means by which Members can influence future directions in the conservation community and seek international support in various conservation issues.

For the first time, a Motions Blog is launched for IUCN Members to draft and discuss motions before they are formally submitted to the 2012 IUCN World Conservation Congress. The blog is a space where Members can post draft motions as well as view and comment on other Members’ posted draft motions. The Motions Blog will be open until 9 May 2012, the statutory deadline for submission of motions. Note that motions need to be submitted by sending an email to motions@iucn.org.
