- The Congress Preparatory Committee of Council is established by IUCN’s Council to provide strategic guidance for the preparations for the Congress. The Committee decides, in consultation with the host country and the Director General, on the scope and nature of the Congress. The Committee also ensures consistency with, and adherence to, IUCN’s Statutes, Regulations and the Rules of Procedure for World Conservation Congresses. It is also active during the Congress, assuming the role of Steering Committee.
