Women adapting to climate change in Mozambique

Through its Climate Change and Development Project (CCDP), IUCN is working to develop adaptation measures which will sustainably safeguard local livelihoods and natural habitats.
Three country pilot studies of the project have been completed in Africa that have given new insight into how local livelihoods are being affected by climate variability and what measures people can take to make their lives less vulnerable and more resilient to the changing climate.
In this video Roberto Zolho, CCDP country coordinator in Mozambique, speaks about one of the lessons that has emerged from the project: that adaptation activities must integrate gender considerations, as men and women respond to climatic impacts in different ways.
