The President’s prime duty is to be the Chair of Council, the Congress, and the Bureau of Council, and works with all Council members and the Director General to make Council and the Congress as effective as possible. The President contributes prestige and influence to enhance the high regard in which the Union is held in the international arena and to facilitate its access to governments and international organizations at the highest level, representing the Union at important meetings.
