Following the success of the Learning Opportunities at the 2008 Congress in Barcelona, the IUCN World Conservation Congress will feature this year a Conservation Campus dedicated to practical training in support of the IUCN Programme 2013-2016.

It is now possible to register for one of the 46 full- or half-day practical, skills-based events and take advantage of the wealth of expertise from Members, Commissions, Secretariat and partners available at Congress. The Conservation Campus is part of the Forum running from 7-11 September and all registered Congress participants can attend at no extra cost.

“The Conservation Campus is bringing together experts from all over the world to share their knowledge with Congress participants,” says Rod Abson, Conservation Campus Manager.

“I’ve been particularly impressed by the calibre of proposals we received this year and with such a wide range of topics, it’s going to be a really dynamic series of events. We’re expecting a lot of interest, so I advise anyone who would like to join a session to sign up quickly!”

Session themes cover everything from protected areas, knowledge products, conservation law, Google Earth, new communication approaches, World Heritage and many more.

Each participant is given the chance to take part in a unique Campus session. Sign up early to get on board this hands-on, solution-based conservation training, which promises to be one of the richest learning experiences you will get!

To register and reserve one of the limited places, log in to the registration system and visit the official programme online. The Conservation Campus will be held at the prestigious Lotte Hotel, just a five-minute drive on the shuttle bus from the main Congress venue at ICC Jeju or a leisurely 30-minute walk.
