Nature is our Business

With the World Conservation Congress kicking off in less than one month, IUCN Global Business and Biodiversity Programme (BBP) is proud to announce an exciting business agenda for Congress which will focus on business solutions for biodiversity conservation challenges.

Business presence and participation at the World Conservation Congress in Jeju, Republic of Korea from 6 to 15 September is expected to be stronger than ever. With more than 80 events related to business and biodiversity, a Business and Economy Pavilion and business participants coming from all over the globe, BBP expects discussions at congress to be lively and diverse. BBP also expects Congress to enable new alliances to be forged between the business and conservation communities for improved conservation outcomes.

One key highlight of the business discussions will be the joint IUCN-World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) “Business and Ecosystems Think Tank”, taking place on September 8th. The Think Tank will challenge business and conservation communities to discuss and debate real solutions for changing pace on biodiversity and ecosystem services.

A new BBP brochure entitled “Nature is our business” explains how BBP engages with business as well as IUCN’s vision for business engagement in the future. The brochure is also a good introduction for business discussions at the Congress.
